Main use
Building materials
Magnesium sulfate dissolved in water can react with light burning powder to form magnesium sulfide cement. Magnesium sulfide cement has good fire resistance, heat preservation, durability and environmental protection properties, and is applied in many fields such as fireproof door core board, external wall insulation board, silicon modified insulation board and fire-proof board [1].
Medicine
(1) Magnesium sulfate can inhibit the central nervous system, relax skeletal muscle, sedative, anti-spasmodic and reduce intracranial pressure. It is often used to treat convulsion, eclampsia, uremia, tetanus and hypertensive encephalopathy. More than 10% magnesium sulfate 10 ml deep intramuscular injection or 5% glucose dilution into 2% ~ 2.5% solution slowly drip. However, it should be noted that direct intravenous injection or large dose intramuscular injection of magnesium sulfate is dangerous. Generally, 25% magnesium sulfate can be used at most 15 ml each time. When using, attention should be paid to the patient's breathing and blood pressure. (2) Magnesium plays an important role in the metabolism of sugars and proteins. Growing children with indigestion and vitamin D should be supplemented with magnesium salt.

So magnesium sulfate can be used to treat constipation, intestinal abnormal fermentation; When used with insect repellent, the intestinal worms can be easily expelled. Each time 5 ~ 20 grams of magnesium sulfate dissolved in 100 ~ 400 ml of warm water, oral in the morning. Concentration is not too high, 5% is preferable, otherwise delay defecation.
(6) Magnesium sulfate can stimulate the duodenal mucosa, reflexively cause the relaxation of the common bile duct sphincter, gallbladder contraction, thereby promoting gallbladder emptyand beneficial gallbladder effect. It can be used to treat cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, 2 ~ 5 grams per time, 3 times a day, before or between meals. 50% Magnesium sulfate diluted to 33% (high concentration), 5mL Tid.
(7) Magnesium sulfate can be used as digestive tract contrast.
(8) Anti-inflammatory and swelling removal: 50% solution of this product is applied externally to the affected area, which has the effect of anti-inflammatory and swelling removal.

Magnesium sulfate is easily soluble in water and is not absorbed orally. Magnesium ion and sulfate ion in water solution are not easy to be absorbed by the intestinal wall, so that the intestinal osmotic pressure increases, the body fluid moves to the intestinal cavity, the intestinal volume increases, the intestinal wall expands, thus stimulating the afferent nerve endings of the intestinal wall, reflexively causing the increase of intestinal peristalsis and catharsis. Intravenous and intramuscular injection of magnesium sulfate is mainly used for anticonvulsant, which can cause blood vessel dilation and lead to blood pressure drop. Due to its central inhibitory effect, skeletal muscle relaxation and antihypertensive effect, magnesium sulfate is mainly used in the clinical treatment of eclampsia, tetanus and other convulsions, and also used in the treatment of hypertensive crisis. Industry
Used in leather, explosives, fertilizer, paper, porcelain, printing dye, lead-acid battery and other industries. Magnesium sulfate can be used as a bath salt, along with other minerals such as potassium, calcium, amino acids, and silicates.
Agriculture
Fertilizer: In agriculture and horticulture, magnesium sulfate is used to improve soil deficient in magnesium (magnesium is an essential building block of the chlorophyll molecule) and is most commonly used in potted plants, or in crops containing magnesium, such as potatoes, roses, tomatoes, peppers, and marijuana. The advantage of applying magnesium sulfate over other magnesium sulfate soil amendments (such as dolomitic lime) is its high solubility.
